Spartan Culture

  1. 1We are Operators, we are NOT Consolidators.
  2. 2We do not have a Board of Directors. We do not have family members involved with the business. We are not a large corporation, nor are we a family owned and operated business. We are the best of both.
  3. 3Joining our Team is not easy; we have a high bar for entry; Leaving our Team is not easy either. We work very hard and very smart to retain our employees. EVERY SINGLE PERSON ON OUR TEAM IS IMPORTANT. I don’t allow anyone in our company to terminate any employee unless I am fully involved, I don’t ever want to make a mistake in matters pertaining to an employee’s livelihood.
  4. 4Our General Managers have only one Supervisor. They report directly to me.
  5. 5Our Human Resources Philosophy is different than most organizations because we prefer to be involved as leaders, we prefer to be involved with our employees in all aspects of their employment, even when something becomes difficult. We believe that we need to address issues that arise amongst the ranks, rather than “sub” them out to a faceless group of people whose mission is to “seek and destroy.” We address issues quickly and our mission is not to attack any employee but rather improve the working environment for all stakeholders involved.
  6. 6Numbers are important, their accuracy is even more important. We manage with fewer numbers and fewer reports. We want our focus to be on our employees and customers.
  7. 7We moved the bar up when we raised our minimum pay level to $20 per hour. We moved it to $22.50 in the summer of 2026.
  8. 8We find the best Medical Plans for each individual dealership, which is why we work with more than one Medical Benefit Company.
  9. 9We have a Dress Code, because we want our customers to recognize us immediately, and we want to make things simpler for our employees.
  10. 10Employee Schedules have been dramatically reduced in comparison to yesteryear:
    1. Salespeople work 5 days a week, about 45 hours total.
    2. We are closed on Sundays.
    3. We are closed on Saturdays for Service.
  11. 11Our compensation plans are designed to create a culture which is beneficial to our employees and customers alike. In service we have “team” pay plans for our advisors that reward them for taking care of EVERY customer regardless of how big or small the customer’s needs may be.
  12. 12We have the courage to eliminate business practices even when the industry we are in covets them. We do this in an effort to reduce stress for both our employees and our customers. Examples include:
    1. Lifetime and Quick Oil Changes versus Full-Service Maintenance.
    2. Wholesales Parts.
    3. Purchase of “QUESTIONABLE” used vehicles for resale.
    4. Excessive Prices for F & I products.
  13. 13We have on-site offices rather than centralized offices because we want our employees and customers to be provided with the BEST service possible and you can’t accomplish that with a Centralized Office. WE KNOW THIS FOR A FACT.
  14. 14We invest in our facilities, equipment, tools, computers, and furniture on an immediate need basis. We don’t put off anything that can hinder our ability to properly take care of our customers.
  15. 152 DMS Systems:
    1. We don’t force change on our employees for the sake of our convenience.
    2. We use the best systems in the Industry: CKD and Reynolds and Reynolds.
    3. We don’t allow either ADP or R & R to have the upper hand on us, but instead we have leverage with them.
    4. Having 2 CRM systems lessens our risk in the event that one company fails.
  16. 162 Lending Partners:
    1. We are long-term partners with Wells Fargo and Toyota Financial Systems.
    2. We don’t allow either Wells or TFS to have the upper hand on us, but instead we have leverage with them.
    3. Having 2 Primary lenders lessens our risk in the event that one company fails.
  17. 17Spartan Management has a highly committed, experienced, and hardworking support team whose number one focus is to support our dealership management teams in any way needed. We are available every day, nearly all hours, we pick up our phones, decisions are made.
  18. 18Our company is financially sound, we are very well capitalized, and our borrowing capacity is noteworthy to say the least!
